AMAZON SELLER CENTRAL / INVENTORY
Check an Amazon inventory CSV before Check and Upload
Amazon inventory files are template-driven: the worksheet, headers, and values must belong to the selected category. Use LocaCSV to inspect structure and remove confirmed export-only columns before upload.
Start from Amazon's template for the selected inventory type
Seller Central's Check and Upload flow expects a category-specific inventory template. A CSV can be valid syntax and still fail because the worksheet, header, or required value is wrong.
- The upload reports an unknown or missing header
- A tabular export contains columns not in the Amazon template
- Descriptions with commas shift values into the wrong columns
Compare structure before changing catalog values
Download the current template and compare it with the export. LocaCSV can show column counts, quotes, and empty rows, but it cannot determine category, SKU, or fulfillment policy.
- Use the template version for the selected marketplace and category
- Keep SKU and product identifiers as text
- Record any removed export-only column rather than deleting it from the source
Prepare an upload copy in LocaCSV
LocaCSV does not validate Amazon category rules or create listings. It helps ensure that the file reaching Seller Central has an intentional structure.
- Run CSV diagnosis on the inventory export
- Compare headers and select only the template columns required for the upload
- Check quoting, delimiters, and encoding without rewriting values
- Upload a small sample with Check and Upload and save the processing report
Use Seller Central's result as the final check
- The header and column order match the current Amazon template
- Input and output row counts reconcile after any explicit exclusions
- SKU, UPC/EAN, price, and quantity remain unchanged
- The Check and Upload report is saved with the output filename

- Select the columns required by the templateRemove export-only fields while keeping all data rows.
- Check the CSV character encodingChoose the source encoding from the preview instead of guessing from the country.
If Amazon returns an error file
Follow the specific row and field in the error file. Distinguish template or encoding errors from category, identifier, pricing, and account restrictions before regenerating the CSV.
